I had purposely used no lights to retain my vision. I was sitting in a huge Oak tree in the middle of winter and at 2 AM in pitch black darkness, I heard the noises of a group coming up from the creek ditch. I had been hired to take out some wild pigs inside a local well known RV campsite operated by a national corporation in US. I have only fired 1 round through this gun. I found ammo online at Cabela's about 8 years ago. I also have a Nickel plated 4 inch self-ejecting 38 S&W ctg 5-shot revolver. Thank you immensely for this information. At my Father's death it came to me, and now I have given it to my oldest Grandson, having had no Sons of my own. This gun belonged to my Paternal Grandfather years ago and went to my Father after his death. I am assuming from the description that it is safe to fire modern cartridges (if I can find them). The serial number on mine appears to be 363422, although the 4 is slightly worn so it could be a plus (+) sign? The cylinder face has the number 422 on it. It has Worcester, Mass on the top, and 38 S&W Ctge on the left side of barrel and is the auto ejection model. It does match your description of at least the third model. Or maybe it's a fifth variation, as I don't understand the description about the 'no step-down' for the grip panel. It appears like it matches the description of a third variation, possibly. I just found this thread and appreciate the information. Hello, I'm new here but older hunter and gun man.
